WHAT ARE OCCUPIED JAPAN COLLECTIBLES History: One half of all items produced in Japan after World War II from late 1945 until
early 1952 for export to the U.S. and elsewhere were required by law to be marked with the words “Occupied Japan”
in some form. This law was introduced by General Douglas MacArthur as a way to help the American people accept
and purchase imports from the disdained and defeated nation of Japan and to allow the Japanese people to gain a foothold on
economic recovery and re-unification with the west. Other than the explicit mark there is little evidence
to authenticate an item from the period. These items are unique, finite in quantity, and of course will never be produced
again.
What everyone should know about US We have been collecting and dealing with
Occupied Japan items for 40+ years, before they were popular. We are amazed at all the different items produced
in that period of history. We have a passion for Occupied Japan items and will happily share it. All Occupied Japan Items seen on this site are authentic marked Occupied
